Optima, a supplier of dosing, filling, packaging, and handling systems, has expanded its operations in India with the addition of 40 engineering specialists to its Pune site. The new staff joined from the service provider Eckstein on 1 April, the company announced in a press release.
Optima said the move secures additional expertise and strengthens its long-term presence in India. Stefan König, CEO of the Optima Group, said the decision was part of a strategy to increase technical capacity and improve proximity to customers in the Asian market.
Pune, one of India’s main centers for mechanical engineering, attracts skilled professionals. According to Optima, the new employees have previously worked with the company, are experienced in process operations and have knowledge about the Indian market.
Christoph Mueller, managing director of Optima international GmbH, said the integration of an experienced team would help the company expand its operations in India.
The Pune site will be led by Akshay Chikodi, who has been with Optima since 2012 and most recently served as director of Sales and Service.
Optima, which has operated in India since 2011 through its subsidiary in Bangalore, described the latest expansion as part of its long-term strategy to grow in markets with a strong pharmaceutical sector.
Stefan König said India remains a key focus for the company due to its population growth and industrial development, and reaffirmed Optima’s commitment to increasing its international presence.
