Mumbai headquartered Mehta Flex, an innovator in producing co-extruded blown films and one of the country’s leading converters, installed its seventh Bobst CI flexo press in the first quarter of this year at its flexible packaging plant in Daman. One of the first to own a CI flexo press in the country when the technology was new, the company’s technically advanced flexible packaging employs precision-driven printing and converting methods to produce the excellent quality packaging materials with high dimensional accuracy.

The Daman plant, which also contains the company’s W&H blown film lines, has multiple Bobst CI flexo presses, including a 10-color. Apart from its ability to precisely and consistently produce specialized effects such as vignettes, matt and gloss finishes, and brand-secure print, Mehta Flex is a specialist in oil and milk pouches. Its flexible packaging innovations are based on its research and development capabilities in barrier properties, decoration, and coatings – right from blown films to its flexo presses and converting equipment.

The company’s knowledge in polymer technology is key to its role as an innovator and flexible packaging pioneer. The team’s commitment to R&D in polymer science leads to sustainable packaging solutions that have become industry benchmarks.

Vijay Mehta states, “Our association with Bobst dates to the early 2000s when we bought our Flexpress-16S. The sturdy engineering, high reliability, and precision of this press gave us great confidence, and since then, we have purchased seven printing presses from Bobst. In our relationship over the last 25 years, their support and service have been top-class. We are happy to be associated with an organization that shares common values of passion and commitment towards the industry and its customers. Its smartGPS system is a revolutionary and unparalleled development in the flexo industry.”

The infrastructure at Mehta Flex reflects its pursuit of excellence, including multiple European multilayer blown film lines that consistently produce superior quality films. The recently installed and commissioned Bobst Expert CI flexo promises to deliver uniquely customised packaging materials for prominent global brands. The new press, with its advanced automation features, streamlines and optimizes large-scale print operations and reduces downtime.

Moreover, the Expert CI flexo resonates with Mehta Flex’s ecological ethos and responsible manufacturing practices in the production of tailored packaging materials and solutions. The company’s expertise, ingenuity, and eco-friendliness keep it at the forefront of quality and operational efficiency, ultimately benefiting its brand owner customers.
