At Printpack India 2015, Manugraph introduced its newly developed 4-page newspaper press which runs at a speed of 25,000 copies an hour. While featuring compactness in 2 x 1 concept with single level operating, the press offers optimum output with the flexibility of single width presses to meet small and medium size volume. The press is suitable for small to medium newspaper publishers, especially in the tier-2 and tier-3 cities. However, big publishers are also showing a tendency to opt for this press, says PK Bhalla, general manager of Manugraph India. “We are getting a very good response for this press at Printpack 2015.

The new Ecoline a single width, single circumference press for newspaper printing allows for 4-color printing on just one operating level. Its compact footprint of 8.5-feet height and single level operation allows for installation in pressrooms with minimum floor space and ceiling heights. Shorter web leads between printing provides better print quality, improved color registration and lower waste.

Speaking about the industry, Bhalla says, There are many challenges  press manufactures have to come up with new machines with new features like we have done in Ecoline. The aim should be to meet the specific requirements of the newspaper publishers. All big and medium newspaper publishers are looking for better machines but for the moment they are holding onto their investments due to a sluggish economy. However, once things start improving there will be pent up demands. I am quite hopeful that things will be better after a quarter or two.

About the event, Bhalla says, The Printpack event is quite satisfactory. Also this time, the arrangements at the event are better than the last time. A lot of people are visiting our stand and enquiring about our machines and we have been able to generate a database of serious visitors. The next exhibition we are going to participate in after Printpack is hopefully drupa 2016.
