Mumbai-based Bhatia Graphica, a leading pre-press and pre-media services trade shop, has invested in Esko and DuPont technologies to augment its platemaking capabilities and expand into the narrow web flexo segment.

The company has installed an Esko CDI Spark 4835 CtP and a new flexo platemaking workflow from DuPont Cyrel Solutions. It has also chosen a Cyrel 1000 P solvent platemaking processor and a Cyrel 1000 ECDLF exposure, dryer, and light finisher unit for its facility in Goregaon.

Jitendra Bhatia, director of Bhatia Graphica, said the proven track record of DuPont Cyrel, combined with strong after-sales and service support from the Cyrel India team, were key factors in the decision-making process.

The proven performance and quality of flexo equipment and plates from DuPont Cyrel, combined with strong after-sales and service support from Cyrel India team, were key in this decision-making. A big advantage of DuPont is that it has a very significant Indian presence. This becomes important in case of machine breakdowns,” Bhatia said.

Jitendra Bhatia said the quality of Esko CtPs is outstanding. Bhatia Graphica was familiar with Esko’s service and technology, making it a natural choice for the Mumbai company as it was looking to add another CtP.

Bhatia Graphica was founded in 1997 by Jitendra Bhatia’s father Ram Bhatia. The company began its journey in the dry offset industry by providing zinc plates. In 2014, it became a pioneer in offering metal-backed digital plates to the dry offset industry in India. In 2017, the company ventured into digital letterpress plates and digital flexo plates when it installed its first Esko CtP.

Expanding into labels, flexible packaging, corrugation and book ruling segments

With its new investment, Bhatia Graphica is ready to enter the labels, flexible packaging, corrugation, and book ruling segments.

We are ready to expand into labels, flexible packaging, corrugation and book ruling. We think it is very important to have state-of-the-art pre-press bureaus like ours in India to cater to the growing market for flexo technology. Both narrow and wide web markets are witnessing strong growth. Soon, we will add more equipment and space for further expansion,” said Jitendra Bhatia.
