Citrus Packaging Solutions, a Hyderabad-headquartered label manufacturer, recently retrofitted its Miyakoshi VAR18B offset press with LED offset, flexo, and die-cutting units combo along with an inline 100% inspection system from Nerco.
The company provides labels and solutions for automatic application in the pharma, FMCG, automotive, white goods, electronics, mobile, beverages, and alcohol industries. Its products include tamper-evident labels, single-layer labels, multilayer labels, hanger labels, and specialty labels.
Chenga Reddy, president and CEO of Citrus Packaging Solutions, said the quality of output from the Miyakoshi VAR18B is superior to any other press. “Miyakoshi machines are built to last for a lifetime. We had bought this machine to cater to short-run jobs for self-adhesive labels, aluminum foil, lami tubes, laminates, structured material, medical grade paper.” He says the add-on features of the press helps us to provide quality products to our customers thereby maintaining a long-term relationship.
Empowered by the concept of full-rotary/semi-rotary mode switchability, the Miyakoshi VAR 18B offers maximum job flexibility to label printers and converters. Fully incorporated with digital controls and adjustments, the full servo drive technology assures the highest register accuracy regardless of paper thickness or machine speed.
The operations, including register correction and ink and water balancing, are digitalized to reduce operator workload, thus achieving standardized press management. An automatic washing system cleans the ink remaining on inking rollers after the print finish, shortening job changeover times.
Founded in September 2017, Citrus Packaging Solutions started with an 8-color UV flexographic press and other ancillary equipment in Hyderabad and later expanded to Bangalore.
The Hyderabad unit is equipped with two Lombardi UV flexo presses, one UV curable adhesive coater, a Miyakoshi 18-inch intermittent LED offset with flexo and die cutting units, and four 100% inspection equipment along with VDP and slitter rewinders. The Bangalore unit is equipped with an 8-color flexo press from UV Graphics, inspection, and other ancillary equipment.
After the installation of the retrofitted Miyakoshi press, Reddy expects a growth of 15% in business. When asked about the return on investment (ROI), he said, “I never estimate, I buy machines that I like and feel that they can add value to our company.”
According to him, the turnaround of jobs with less wastage and a greater number of jobs per day, along with the innovation of new products, will be the key to a successful business.
