At the recently concluded IndiaCorr Expo in Greater Noida from 23 – 25 October 2021, Valco Melton showcased its ClearVision Inspection Systems in India for the first time. The wholly-owned subsidiary known as Valco Melton India told us that the company was not impacted much during the Covid-19 pandemic. At the show, it was happy to reunite and meet its industry colleague, associates and customers in the first corrugated trade show in India after the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Ravi Kiran, business director, Valco Melton India, UAE & Singapore, the company which has its Indian headquarters in Bengaluru, had a smooth sailing during the Covid-19 crisis. It works across the country with numerous industries such as food and beverage, pharma, automotive and converters and was able to focus on alternate segments even if one industry was not doing well. He took the example of eCommerce to emphasize how certain segments have been positively impacted by the pandemic and have been performing exceptionally well. “Valco Melton was doing very well in terms of business even during the Covid peak or after the second wave of Covid-19,” he said.

Valco Melton ClearVision Quality Assurance Systems

The Valco Melton ClearVision Quality Assurance Systems have been designed for color detection, window or insert detection, carton ejection, skew, full sheet print inspection, gap detection, double feed-monitoring, and glue line inspection. The quality assurance system incorporates inspection devices and code readers to identify faulty boxes which ultimately eliminates problems encountered during the product assembly stage. The inspection device aims to assist end-users to manufacture a perfect end product.

The ClearVision Quality Assurance System comes with sophisticated pattern control packages with avant-grade management software to assist quality managers with remote control, off-site monitoring and tracking of the production process for later analysis. The high-end inspection system removes bad boxes and cartons from the production line and makes sure that a reliable, high-end product is delivered to the end-users in an accurate manner.

The ClearVision Inspection System can be integrated with Valco Melton gluing systems to develop a camera-based inspection machine for corrugated box and folding carton manufacture and packaging. It comes with a zero-defect product guarantee to specify the end product in accordance with client requirements. The quality assurance device provides a competitive advantage through zero defect boxes, rapid ROI and total quality management through negligible downtime.

Ravi Kiran explained, “The ClearVision inspection systems are designed to inspect the adhesive on the boxes so that it can capture unglued boxes and report to the operator so that the system can eject the bad box and it won’t go to the end-user. We have a sophisticated technology to inspect the glue, to inspect the fold, and to inspect the gap.”
