Australia’s food packaging and processing machine manufacturer, tna solutions, is working on a strategy to expand its market share in India as it wants to capitalize on the country’s growing packaging and processing market.
Palani Karai, divisional sales manager, tna solutions, told Packaging South Asia during the recently concluded Interpack 2023, that “India is a price-sensitive market and that the cost of our machines, being manufactured in Australia, poses a challenge for Indian customers.”
“Although our technology is among the best in the world, the price of our machines is not affordable for a large number of potential customers. The management of tna solutions aims to develop a strategy to make their machines more competitive and affordable for the Indian market,” Karai said.
In India, tna solutions has customers at the higher end of the market. Some of its customers are large Indian snack food brands such as Haldiram’s, Bikaji and Balaji, among others.
“India has a large population and a rapidly growing economy, so the market is very important for tna. I believe automation is the way forward and we provide some the best solutions when it comes to automation,” he added.
tna’s extended reality technology at Interpack
At Interpack, tna offered visitors the opportunity to explore a virtual factory using its extended reality (XR) technology. This technology allows for remote commissioning, installation, and maintenance of production lines, resulting in reduced carbon footprint and downtime.
Using tna’s software and VR headsets, participants were able to take an immersive journey through a production line and experience a 360-degree view of the environment. tna’s experts were available to guide users and discuss how this technology can be applied in real-world scenarios to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

“With the XR technology, we are moving fully into 3D. What it means to our customers is that we can really dig into the details of our solutions and make sure they hit the purpose and do not face any snags. XR technology helps potential customers take an immersive journey through a production line and experience a 360-degree view of the environment. They can see how the systems are behaving in the actual environment. This will not only help the customers but also help us as we can tackle a lot of issues before the commissioning of the machines,” Brett Rickman, branch general manager- Asia at tna solutions said.
