
Dow announced that the Innate TF Polyethylene Resins for Tenter Frame Biaxial Orientation (TF-BOPE) has been chosen by Libby, a laundry brand in China, for its packaging used to contain laundry pods. The first batch of the fully recyclable packaging is now available on its eCommerce stores, Tmall.com. This collaboration further advances Dow’s new sustainability target to have 100% of its packaging applications reusable or recyclable by 2035. The joint effort between Dow, Libby, and Fujian Kaida enabled Liby to produce its fully recyclable laundry packaging for the laundry pods. According to the press note, Dow’s Innate TF-BOPE was selected due to its all-polyethylene (PE) structure that allows the end-product to be recycled in existing recycling streams, strong material properties offering high toughness to reduce leakage during eCommerce transportation, as well as better optics for stand-up shelf appeal and touch and feel.
