Global adhesive manufacturing company HB Fuller showcased its range of hotmelt and water-based pressure-sensitive adhesives at Labelexpo India.

Shekhar Shinde, business development manager at HB Fuller, told Packaging South Asia, that in the Indian market, converters face die-cutting issues due to the climatic changes during summer. “To deal with this problem, HB Fuller has come up with a product named SwiftMelt 1892. It has excellent die-cuttability with balanced adhesion and cohesion so that the converters do not face any die-cutting or matrix-breaking issues.”

HB Fuller also offers water-based adhesives in specialized applications. The Fulltak SE 7588 is mainly targeted at fillable applications. “When you apply this label on any substrate and the end-user removes the label, there won’t be any adhesive transfer on the substrate,” Shinde said.

Apart from the SwiftMelt 1892 and Fulltak SE 7588, HB Fuller has other products that it sells in the European and US markets.

HB Fuller has a factory and office in Pune to supply to the Indian customers. The company has channel partners in every region, Shinde said.

At Labelexpo, HB Fuller mainly targeted tape and label manufacturers, Shinde said, adding India is a big market for pressure-sensitive adhesive applications – whether its hotmelt, water-based or solvent-based pressure-sensitive adhesives.

According to Shinde, the response at Labelexpo was great. HB Fuller got more than 200 leads till 16 November morning with 50% of them looking promising. He said the company had been participating in Labelexpo India for years. The company displayed samples of its products for customers.
