Specialty chemicals company Lanxess India hosted its first-ever Solutions Day event in Mumbai on 25 April 2025, bringing together customers and key stakeholders to explore the company’s diversified and sustainable product portfolio.

The event featured representatives from all nine of Lanxess’ business units — Advanced Industrial Intermediates, Flavors & Fragrances, Inorganic Pigments, Liquid Purification Technologies, Lubricant Additives Business, Material Protection Products, Polymer Additives, Rhein Chemie, and Saltigo.

Each business unit presented its products and solutions, underscoring Lanxess’ commitment to offering advanced, sustainable solutions tailored for industrial applications.

‘One Lanxess’ was the central theme of Solutions Day, with a focus on the synergies across its business segments.

Lanxess has evolved from a polymer-based business to a leader in specialty chemicals, with a focus on three key segments — Consumer Protection Products, Specialty Additives, and Advanced Industrial Intermediates.

The day featured interactive sessions, technical presentations, and networking opportunities that allowed participants to exchange knowledge, identify potential areas for collaboration, and explore innovative solutions across industries.

Namitesh Roy Choudhury, vice chairman & managing director of Lanxess India, highlighted the importance of the event in strengthening partnerships and driving sustainable industry growth.

“Our goal with Solutions Day is to strengthen our existing partnerships and explore future collaborations that support sustainable industry growth,” he said. “Through this event, we want to highlight Lanxess’ integrated offerings to all our stakeholders and address the global industrial challenges through the combined power of sustainable chemistry, innovation, and responsible business.”

The event was part of Lanxess’ transformation from a product supplier to a solution provider. This shift, marked by the company’s 20th anniversary following its spin-off from Bayer in 2004, signals its ambition to provide products and tailored solutions for customers worldwide.

As part of its vision for the future, Lanxess unveiled its newly inaugurated application development labs across Los Angeles, China, Europe, and the United States. These labs foster closer collaboration with customers, ensuring that Lanxess remains at the forefront of innovation.

Lanxess India has established a strong manufacturing presence in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh with a multi-business unit facility in Gujarat, manufacturing products for rubber, biosecurity, and liquid filtration technologies. The company has also invested in India’s local industries by developing application-specific labs to support growth.

Lanxess is committed to achieving climate-neutral operations by 2040 and net-zero emissions by 2050. In India, 85% of the company’s operations are already climate-neutral, with the use of biomass for electricity generation and green energy solutions for its plants.
