The Catch Your Skin Tone app is
based on Techkon’s ColorCatcher
technology
Announced in May 2015, Techkon’s Innovation Lab has developed a ground breaking technology to capture real colors with mobile devices. This way the consumer gets his individually matching product displayed on the smartphone; only a touch of a button away from purchasing it online.
The Catch Your Skin Tone app is based on Techkon’s Color Catcher technology. It recomm- ends the right product – like a make-up foundation that matches the consumer’s skin tone perfectly.
This is how it works – the user places the credit-card sized Color Chart first on the forehead and captures the chart with the app-integrated camera mode. The same procedure is followed with the cheek and then the chin. As a result, the app generates an accurate color value which corresponds to the right cosmetic product. Additionally, harmonizing colors or products and further functions such as online ordering and social sharing can beembedded.
The advantages for cosmetic and fashion brands are obvious. This powerful technology builds the bridge from conventional commerce to eCommerce. It increases sales, decreases return rates, furnishes smart data about the consumer’s buying behaviour and strengthens the customer relationship. The industry regards this smart solution as a perfect mass-customization tool. It belongs to today’s digital tool set, transforming the uncommitted consumer into aprosumer with along-term brand loyalty.
Techkon offers this tailor-made solution to premium cosmetic and fashion companies. The Catch Your Skin Tone app premiered at this year’s inno Cos summit in Madrid from 4 to 5 June 2015, the leading venue for decision-makers in the cosmetic and beauty industry
