US-based Arden Software promoted its Impact CAD packaging design software at the Printpack exhibition in Greater Noida, apart from launching its new product – the Dynamic Constraint Manager.
The three-company group – Arden Software, Arden Dies and Arden Engraving – was founded in the 1960s by two brothers, Frank and Philip Poynter. It started its Indian operations in 2015. The Indian team looks after the region from Africa to South East Asia.
Manish Bhaskar, managing director – Asia and Africa at Arden Software, told Packaging South Asia, “The Dynamic Constraint Manager is a one-of-its-kind software in the CAD packaging software industry where you can create parametric designs on the board rather than using parametric libraries.”
The response to the new launch was quite good, Bhaskar said, adding the software had many appealing features for the packaging industry. The new software, Bhaskar said, gives users total control over their packaging design, providing efficiency and precision. Rather than using AutoDesk AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW, Arden Software’s Dynamic Constraint Manager and Impact CAD offer many advantages and are much faster, he added.
Six deals for Dynamic Constraint Manager at the show
The company closed six deals for the new Dynamic Constraint Manager at Printpack. Arden’s packaging design applications have been previously installed at Parksons Packaging in Delhi and Chakan, Calprin in Kokata, Canpac in Ahmedabad, Autoprint in Ahmedabad, and Orient Press in Silvassa. The company has sold the majority of its packaging design software licenses to companies in western and southern India.
Arden Software’s die-making module is installed at all the top die makers in India – Ashok & Sons Die Maker in Delhi, Jain Tools and Dies in Gurugram, Light Punch Maker in Mumbai, Zenith Die Makers in Karnataka, Diehard Dies in Andhra Pradesh and Artize Die Makers in Sonepat.
“Packaging companies should start looking at using specialized software designed keeping the packaging industry in mind,” Bhaskar said, adding that the chances of the job getting rejected become minimal with the use of Arden Software’s applications.
The software can estimate paper and machine efficiency, giving packaging converters a rough idea about how much a job will cost them. Most designing software doesn’t provide these additional features, according to him.
“I look after the territory from Australia to Africa from India, and in FY 24-25, Arden Software sold about 30 licenses for their software in India (amounting to around Rs 2 crore),” Bhaskar said, adding if the whole region from Australia to Africa is considered, 70-80 licenses were sold.
In 2018, the company set up an office in Ghaziabad in Delhi-NCR and moved to Hyderabad in 2021. Arden Software employs 15 software developers at its subsidiary development center in Hyderabad while the major development center is based in the UK, Bhaskar said.
The 2025 Printpack was Arden Software’s sixth participation in the show and Bhaskar was happy with the overall response received.
