Indore-based Vijayshri Packaging commissioned its third brand-new printing machine in June 2024. This brand new Komori Lithrone GL 637 IR UV combi press is specifically configured with medium & high volume packaging board printing.

This is Vijayshri Packaging’s third ‘big ticket’ investment with Komori in the last four years. Speaking on these regular investments, Ayush Jain, director of Vijayshri Packaging, says, “Earlier, we used to run pre-owned machines only; but since 2021 we have gradually replaced the old with the new. These brand new machines have helped us scale up production, maintain color consistency and shorten the turnaround time.”

Vijayshri Packaging has strategically invested in different formats and capabilities of the brand-new machines to ensure quick ROI (return on investment). The first press was a Komori 6-color machine in the 75x105cm format capable of combi printing. The second press was another Komori 6-color machine in the 64×94 cm format capable of conventional printing only. Despite of different intended applications, the quality measurement (scanning) systems, software and other functions of the machines have been kept common to facilitate crew commonality and training.

Jain continues, “The hallmark of our growth is our ability to choose the right technology at the right time. The Komori Lithrone GL 640 was our biggest technological leap towards boosting the quality and quantity of our products to a whole new level. This thought process also applies to post-press, where we constantly develop new structures, shapes, and solutions.”

Established in the year 1991, Vijayshri Packaging has been manufacturing packaging as well as commercial print jobs. Over the years, the company has specialized in the packaging space carving a niche for itself in the packaging of chocolates and confectionery. Vijayshri Packaging classifies its products into five major categories—mono cartons, window cartons, liner cartons, litho-laminated cartons and corrugated shippers.

In addition to the Komori presses Vijayshri Packaging’s machine & equipment portfolio is fully packed with other high-end machines like Kodak Trendsetter CtP plate-setter, two fully automatic corrugation lines, three METPET laminators, four high-speed flute laminators, seven die-cutters, six folder gluers, two Heiber + Schröder liner machines, two window patching machines, among others.

With a team of 500 highly-experienced professionals, Vijayshri Packaging’s flagship manufacturing plant is located strategically at RR Industrial Park in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, occupying an area of 10 acres (43,000 sqm) out of which the total built-up area is 25,000 sqm. The current conversion capacity of the company is 2200 MT per month, delivering 50 million cartons or 10 million printed sheets for clients from key sectors such as foods, FMCG, pharmaceuticals.
