Rotherham-based Crown Labels, established in 1989 recently installed a Domino N610i inkjet label press, significantly expanding the printer’s production capacity. With printing speed upto 70 meters a minute, the Domino N610i press is a highly flexible option suited to short and medium print runs. The use of UV curable inks results in a bright and durable print, well suited to a wide range of industries from personal care to chemical and even high-end consumer products.
The press was installed in late 2019 after the company witnessed growth in demand for digitally printed labels, for three years continuously. Crown also runs an Epson inkjet digital label press alongside other narrow web flexo presses and hot foil printing machines.
“We’re excited with this new addition to our label printing capabilities,” says Tom Hardy, managing director at Crown Labels. “The impressive speed and quality of the Domino press ensures that we can offer the benefits of digital print to a larger portion of our customer base. Plus, our increased capacity ensures that we’re able to sustain our level of service for all customers even as the order volumes increase. Lead times across all our print processes have reduced and the feedback we’ve had from customers has been superb.’
The company’s investment in the Domino N610i inkjet label press is described as one of its most significant investments in the last 30 years. Crown Labels has built a diverse customer base ranging from local industrial customers to national brands and established trade businesses, while still maintaining the personalised service of a family-run business.
The Domino inkjet digital press is expected to make Crown Labels more competitive than ever. Mike Hardy, sales director at Crown Labels, says, “Trade customers in particular will love the lead times and quality of labels printed on this press, and we look forward to expanding our service to them, plus a wide variety of customers from other industries.”
