Biku Kohli, managing director of SP Ultraflex with a Robolsit at PlastIndia 2023

Mumbai-based SP Ultraflex demonstrated the latest features that were incorporated in its Roboslit slitter rewinder at the PlastIndia 2023 show held from 1-5 February in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan.

We were showing the next level of automation in our Roboslit slitter rewinder. Since the launch of the Roboslit in 2014, we worked to improve the speed of the machine and reduce the reel changeover time. Our latest improvement is a reduction in the job changeover time,” said Biku Kohli, managing director of SP Ultraflex.

We have tried to optimize the job changeover time. We are able to set up a job in minutes, something that took 40 to 50 minutes earlier. We can do it in three-four minutes with the new innovation. At PlastIndia, we ran the Roboslit. The guests were amazed to see it takes just 40 seconds for the changeover. At PlastIndia, we ran the Roboslit for a four up job and the guests were amazed to see that it takes just 40 seconds for the changeover. With the new features, there is time saving, and less wastage,” Kohli added.

SP Ultraflex has incorporated an interchangeable head between the razor and rotary cutting and added a reel-weighing option in the Roboslit.

Earlier, customers needed to weigh the reels separately. Now we added an automatic weighting feature in the machine, which has eliminated the need of weighting each reel separately,” Kohli said.

Strong leads for the future

Kohli said the PlastIndia show was very good for the company as it got some very strong leads for the future. “We got a very good response from the visitors at PlastIndia to the new improvements in the Roboslit. We hope to crack new deals soon,” Kohli said.

Kohli said SP Ultraflex has started working on the new set of improvements for the Roboslit. “We are working on new areas to improve the Roboslit and expect these to be incorporated in a year,” he said.
