The recently launched industry body for members of the label industry, Association of Label Printers and Suppliers (ALPS), held a get together on 4 March in New Delhi, which was attended by 148 people and more than 80 printing firms, suppliers, media and supporting organizations
ALPS’ membership count has crossed 160 members from the label industry and the number is expected to reach 300 by end March 2017. The New Delhi get together follows an initial get together that was held in Delhi in December last year and which was followed by a couple of regional meetings in Chennai and Bengaluru. Another meeting in Hyderabad is expected later this month.
ALPS’ new core committee has been created with Gururaj Ballarwad being announced as the president, Ajay Agarwal as vice president, Arunesh Bansal as secretary and Ashish Gupta as treasurer. A list of these sub-committees and their members will be put up on the newly created website: www.alpsindia.org. The 4 March event included a welcome note and a founder’s vision statement by the Ballarwad, which was followed by a detailed presentation by Aggarwal who outlined the objectives and purpose of the Association showing the short- to medium-term plans of the organization. ‘As we embark on this new journey, while we all bring a lot of experience as well as domain knowledge to this organization, we wish to remain grounded and relate as best as we can to all sections of the industry,’ ALPS stated.
