At the recently concluded Automation Expo 2024, Pilz, a leader in safety automation, unveiled its new safety locking device integrated into safety gate systems, the PSENmlock mini.
In the realm of industrial automation, the operation of movable guards such as swing gates, sliding gates, flaps, and covers is ubiquitous. To mitigate the risks associated with hazardous overrunning movements, a safety locking device with precise manipulation protection, compliant with EN ISO 14119, is essential.
The PSENmlock mini, a new sensor technology by Pilz, measures just 30 x 30 x 159 mm and is 60% smaller than the PSENmlock, ensuring it fits in the most space-constrained environments. With a holding force of 1,950 N (F1max: 3,900 N), the PSENmlock mini guarantees robust protection.
It is ideal for personnel protection applications, meeting the stringent safety standards of PL d, Cat. 3 of EN ISO 13849-1, and can be used for gates with a minimal gate radius of 200 mm. With simple operation via the PITgatebox push button unit, which is available with an optional integrated access permission system, the PSENmlock mini is well-suited for use in the packaging industry to protect against manipulation.
“The PSENmlock mini stands out with its versatile installation options, allowing the actuator to be attached from the right, left, or front. This flexibility significantly enhances your machine design possibilities, making it easier to achieve the perfect setup,” said Dhiraj Podutwar of Pilz India.
