Started in 1994, Mumbai-based Condot Systems provides products and solutions for marking and batch coding, variable data printing, transport systems and vision systems. The company meets the demands of printing, packaging, pharmaceuticals, dairy and FMCG segments. At PackPlus 2016, held in July 2016 in Delhi, the company showcased products from the US-based company Matthews Marking Systems following a collaboration with the latter to represent its products in India. “Matthews Marking Systems is a 125-year-old company and is the leader in coding, marking and inkjet applications in the US,” says Vijay
Kamat, GM marketing of Condot Systems. At PackPlus, Condot displayed dropon-demand valve inkjet printers and high-resolution piezo electric printers from Mathews apart from various track-and-trace systems.

“We manufacture as well as represent foreign companies in India. Based on customer requirements, we develop different products – we are basically system integrators in the inkjet business,” says Kamat. “The market is competitive but I believe there is a huge potential for each company to grow. There is a transition happening from analog to digital and the manpower is becoming a huge issue. So people are investing in digital technologies.” According to Kamat, the industry is growing at 15% YoY. “Our growth is more than the industry growth in the last three to four years which is 25%. I believe that there is a role for everybody to play in the market.”

Speaking about his experience at PackPlus, Kamat says, “This is our first time at PackPlus and we have already achieved our investment on the second day. Also the visitor response and footfall is as per our expectation. Since we are predominantly in the printing, packaging and the pharma markets, PackPlus is the right platform for us. So we are planning to participate at this event every year.”
