At the K 2022 in Dusseldorf Elba demonstrated its SA-V line forming Doypack stand-up pouches from recyclable and digitally printable mono-material PE films. Elba’s modular SA-V line has been enhanced for increasing its performance across a wider possibility of flexible materials. The higher performance and more compact machine incorporates newer technology for both flexibility and better visual feedback to the operators.

The SA-V pouch-making machine’s design is optimized to improve control and extend the operating width of the materials that can be processed, which in turn allows for more variety of pouch shapes on the same machine. Controls for adjusting the cutting parameters are enabled and aided by real-time visual feedback on a single console. The new SA-V line incorporates more efficient adjustment devices with fewer components for easier setup and maintenance, adding to its reliable operation with minimal downtime. The machine’s stoppages or downtimes are now likely to be limited to the replacement of worn parts.

Higher speeds and net throughput with maximum sealing quality were demonstrated at the fair. The enhanced machine also contains an integrated web server for remote monitoring of the key performance indicators as well as its energy consumption.

The Elba SA-V can run with all mono or co-extruded materials with PP or PE sealing base, both printed and unprinted, enabling high-performance and high-strength seals. A wide range of accessories and tools such as valve and slider applicators, and easy-open tools, are available to add value to pouches for special applications.

As each station is independent, servo driven, and installed on a modular base, the SA-V design allows the machine to be customized, according to different production requirements. The machine configuration can be upgraded at any time in the field, to take on new designs and unpredictable market demands.
