Nodia-headquartered packaging giant Uflex participated in the recently concluded Pack Plus 2018 event held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Bad weather played its part in the trimmed footfall at the show. Like other participating companies, Uflex too wasn’t much impressed with the footfall the show generated. The company displayed a range of packaging and converting machines as well as solutions from the engineering, cylinder and holography businesses at its stand.

The engineering business of Uflex displayed an upgraded version of its pick, fill and seal (PFS) machine. The PFS machine for preformed pouches is an intermittent motion, fully automatic machine. It is used for packing powder, granules and pastes in preformed pouches such as center seal pouch, 3-side seal pouch, stand-up pouch and zipper pouch. Other machines displayed at the Uflex stand included collar-type form fill and seal machine and Eco Slit 450, a slitter rewinder from Uflex’s engineering division.

Anti-counterfeiting and custom features

PackPlus logoUflex also displayed a range of labels and holograms at the event, which now come with enhanced security features. The company came up with innovations such as fresnel lens and sterling lens including hybrid holograms produced combining two or more holographic designs. Additionally, there was a range of label solutions with enhanced anti-counterfeiting features for the pharma industry to avoid duplicacy. The solutions are a result of patented technology which Uflex developed in collaboration with a US-based company. The company is also planning to expand its labels business. Uflex also displayed laser-engraved embossing cylinders at the event with improved cell structures for reduced ink consumption. The company has been now increasingly focusing on offering customized solutions to its customers throughout the country.
