Sweden-based EMBA Machinery recently participated in the ICCMA event where it displayed its unique inline solutions. EMBA, a leading manufacturer of flexo folder-gluers for the corrugated board industry ranging from Mini to Jumbo lines, rotary diecutters and inline printers, has more than 1,000 installations across the globe. EMBA machines are credited for high productivity and box quality due to the short set-up times and high running speeds with consistent and repeatable performance in the entire product range.

K. Chiranjeevi Sastry, regional sales manager – SAARC Nations at EMBA, said, “It is our fourth appearance at ICCMA. This year, we put on display the FFG 175 QS and 245 QS Ultima through illustration, apart from our other range of products. These two models are equipped with Liquid Creaser and Non-Crush Technology, both of which are patented technologies. The Liquid Creaser applies a liquid on the scoring line to soften the fluting and helps minimize resistance during folding, so that when closing the box it will fold around the creasing line. Non-Crush Technology aids in preserving the geometry and strength of the corrugated profile throughout the converting process by eliminating the nip points. Equipped with such high-end technologies, EMBA Liquid Creaser and Non-Crush
converting technology are the high-tech features that help reduce paper wastage during the process. Our unique inline solutions can help the industry to save around 15 to 20% of paper during the case-making operations.

Talking about the disposition of corrugators towards the automation, Sastry said, “So far we have around eight installations in India. Corrugators are yet to achieve the maturity state in parliamentary procedure to take over high-end automation solutions in the marketplace. Many corrugators are running family-owned businesses and it signposts the lack of right approach to the practical problems. Yet, with changes happening in the industry and more multinational companies stepping in, we can expect some positive changes in the situation.”
