Fosber – a global supplier for the design, construction and installation of complete lines as well as individual machine units for the production of corrugated board packaging – has two lines currently installed and running in India, Deepak Singh, senior manager at the company’s India operations, told Packaging South Asia during the IndiaCorr Expo 2022 held in Mumbai in early October.
“We entered the Indian market in 2018. The company has had a good response from the Indian corrugated industry since then. We have installed two complete corrugation lines in India, one is 2.5 meters wide and the second one is 2.2 meters in width. One customer is based in Pune and the other one is in Meerut. What we have realized is that Indian customers were not getting good after sales service from machine suppliers, especially foreign companies. We have tried to address that issue,” Singh argues.
Fosber has set up a service team for the Indian market, which constantly remains in touch with Fosber’s Italian office and Asian headquarters. “We have also worked on machine AI. What this means is that in the future, the machines will be able to troubleshoot themselves. The machine will be able to figure out the problem, the reason behind the problem and what needs to be done,” Singh says.
Fosber is headquartered at Italy with manufacturing sites at Italy, USA and China and have set up several service centers across the world to provide customer service and spare parts along with service engineers. Has pool of corrugators from 270 meter per minute to 420 meter per minute.
New projects in Indian corrugation industry
Singh says Indian customers have now started looking at premium solution providers such as Fosber as they are now focusing on quality, higher speed and productivity.
“We have seen that post Covid, there has been a clear pick up in the number of projects in the corrugation industry in India. Many convertors who would have opted for cheaper solutions have now started going for quality machines. We met quite a few potential customers at IndiaCorr Expo and hope to get more deals in the coming future,” Singh concludes.
