Arshad Electronics is a family-owned Mumbai-based company, established in 1971 by late AG Moolji. The company has been producing the most advanced systems of corona treaters for blown extrusion films and induction cap sealers for bottles in India. Kabra Extrusion technik, Windsor Machines, Win-Ex Film are few of the company’s clients in the corona treator segment. Moolji says, “Our company showcased the Aurae II C induction sealing machine and corona treaters. We received good visitor footfall at Bengaluru. PackPlus South has been a forum for interacting and connecting with potential clients.”

“We diversified into making induction cap sealers in 1994. We were the first to bring the IGBT technology in India. Over the years we adapted more sophisticated technology. Air cool induction sealers meet the demands of a wide range of packaging industries where the containers need to be leak-proof. Every other product packed in plastic containers such as
pharmaceuticals, lubricants, soaps, detergents and household products are induction sealed. It is a fast and easy way to ensure that your product is safe from contamination and duplication,” says Bilal Mool ji, sales and marketing director of Arshad.

Corona treatment is a process of high speed oxidation which creates polar molecules on the plastic film surface. The energy of the corona will break the bonds of the atomic structure of the substrate. The oxygen rich ozone developed by the corona discharge readily fills the open valancies which create a charged surface thus improving the characteristics of the surface. The treated surface tends to go back to its original dyne level after a certain period of time. It is used most commonly in blown film extrusion lines.A3D corona treator is used to increase charge on the bottles or any plastic objects to enhance the label application, print batches on a bottle and switch gears.

The company provides packaging solutions to customers for developing bottles of various shapes and sizes with the existing system or if required, a new system. Zydus Cadila Healthcare, Dow Agro Science India, Cargill Foods, Bayer Crop Science and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation are few of the key clients in the induction sealing segment. “We need to educate our clients about induction sealer machines and there are certain factors which clients need to understand about the lid of the bottle and torque needed for capping. Unless these factors are taken care of we won’t get a properinduction seal,” concludes Bilal Moolji.
