Greater Noida-based Galaxy Packtech has prepped up to showcase its new GS-24 Plus 200 automatic high-speed recyclable stand-up pouch-making machines at the Interpack packaging show, on which the company has pinned high hopes. The machine that makes shape stand-up recyclable pouches was launched at PlastIndia 2023.

Established in 2001 by Shiv Kumar and Jagat Singh, the company, which makes machines for pouch variants such as zip, three-side seal, shape, stand-up, spout, center seal as well as three side gusset pouches, has grown manifold in its production and customer reception.

The packaging industry has experienced a dramatic change in the last few years, and looks, style, shelf-life, hygiene, and safe packaging material have become drivers of this shift. Gaurav Sharma, chief marketing officer, explains how the company has consistently maintained its position as a key player in the industry. “We started gaining traction when we first manufactured our stand-up zipper machine in 2004 and since then it has been an upward slide backed by constant R&D and expert quality checks. Many new players are on the rise since the pandemic. I think everyone has become more aware of the importance of packaging.”

Sharma also lays emphasis on sustainable and recyclable machinery. “We manufactured our first machine to deal with recyclable material in 2011, opening our doors to recyclable pouching. Printers such as ITC, Paharpur, and Huhtamaki became our recurring customers, giving us more weightage in the market. In 2019, we cracked our first international deal with the Germans, selling our lines to European markets.”

According to Sharma, Galaxy’s machines are already in high demand in Europe. “We were in discussions with a few potential customers we met at the K fair in 2019. They commended our efforts and have already ordered multiple lines from us. We have been receiving good responses from foreign markets ever since.”

Galaxy Packtech is expecting great footfall and serious inquiries at the exhibition. “Trade fairs such as these boost a company’s network. Audience feedback, customer reception, and solution providers both from within India and foreign markets are essential not just for growth but also to weigh and consider. Shows such as Interpack and K highlight what a variety of key players in the industry are doing – enabling us to perform better with our innovations, service, and support. Customer feedback is of the utmost essence to us. It helps us decide our further action and helps us to know how efficient we are,” Sharma adds.

India, Sharma feels, has the potential to become the global hub for manufacturing in the foreseeable future. “I think Indian manufacturers can lead the market by providing better quality, service, and support. The Indian market is already being acknowledged by the Europeans and the Japanese. Soon, India may even become a global hub for packaging,” he says.

The company will be present at hall 8A, stand E52.
