Kohli Graphic Systems
Joginder Kolhi was the chairman and founder of Kohli Graphic Systems

The chairman and founder of Kohli Graphic Systems Jogi Kohli passed away at the age of 74 on 1 July 2016 due to a heart attack in London. Jogi Kohli started his career in the mid 1960s and joined the graphic arts trading and manufacturing company known as The Printers House, at the time jointly owned by the Kohli and Sahni families based in New Delhi. He spearheaded all the sales activities of the company to establish their full range of printing presses not only in India but also overseas. In 1982, Joginder Kolhi founded Kohli Graphic Systems which became the leading graphic arts trading company specializing in computer-driven scanners, typesetting and editorial publishing systems. The legacy of the company’s relationship with Dr. Ing Rudolf Hell in the 1980s is still evident in its representation of Hell Gravure Systems for cylinder engraving today.

Kohli’s pioneering contribution to the continuous modernization of the Indian graphic arts industry was the introduction of various high technology brands and consumables particularly in the prepress imaging domain. Through his leadership and particularly the training and investment in strong electronic engineering support, Kohli Graphic Systems blossomed into a leading all-India organization dealing in prepress graphic arts equipment, software and consumables for the newspaper, commercial print and packaging verticals. Jogi Kohli’s son Arjun Kohli who was inducted into the business in the 1990s has looked after the day-to-day operations of the company for several years. A large crowd of family and industry friends attended a memorial meeting held in New Delhi on 20 July 2016.
