Multitec Aids exhibited its S1 label press running 12-micron PET film, and another E1 narrow web flexo press, a full LED UV curing machine, at the LabelExpo India 2022 show in Greater Noida in November.

The S1 was demonstrated with dual servo technology, multi-layer capability, and several other new features. The E1 was an all-LED UV flexo press printing PS labels. Multitec’s inspection slitter rewinder – the QSR – was also displayed. Lesser wastage, faster set-up, more robust machines, and reliable service are some of the USPs of Multitec‘s machines, according to its chief executive officer Amit Ahuja.

Multitec was able to strike five deals during the four-day exhibition that was held after a gap of four years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The experience at the LabelExpo India 2022 has been phenomenal. We’ve not had such a good show till now. Mostly label printers who have been in this line for a long time or people who are into packaging or flexible packaging visited us. We got all kinds of customers at our stand,” Ahuja said.

Ahuja said it’s time for the label industry in India to shape up because everybody’s just fighting a price war right now. “Shorter runs, quicker turnaround times and a move towards greener technology such as LED are some of the upcoming trends. Homegrown brands and startups is a very, very interesting space. A lot of short-run flexible packaging and short-run labels are coming because of the startup ecosystem,” he signs off.
