Flexo plate manufacturer Creative Graphics presented its products and tech as well as promoted its premedia services at the LabelExpo India 2022 show at the India Expo Center in Greater Noida held from 10 – 13 November.

Apart from presenting its high-quality flexo plates in various thicknesses, the company highlighted its DigiFlow and PureFlexo technologies for creating flat-top dots with enhanced print quality. It also displayed mock-ups to promote its premedia services company, CG Premedia, at the exhibition.

CG Premedia provides end-to-end premedia services such as packaging design, adaptations, art-working, prepress, color management, mock-ups, and market-testing samples. The bundle of services includes strategic package design, structural and engineering design, 3D and 2D CGI, and eCommerce images. Amplification services include creative and variant graphic adaptation, photography, image retouching, image manipulation and color correction, MIS management, printer database management, and digital asset management. In addition, CG Premedia provides print production management and 3D CGI packshots for eCommerce portals – all under one roof.

Sanjay Sakalley, director of Creative Graphics Premedia, told Packaging South Asia, “The response at the LabelExpo was very good. The footfall was good, though it started off a little slowly. We were satisfied with the number of people who visited us. We met some potential customers. Quite a few label manufacturers and machinery manufacturers were present here. It was a great opportunity to meet everybody. There are a lot of new entrants in the industry and new technologies are coming up. We, as a plate manufacturer, are always looking for new opportunities.

According to Sakalley, the Indian label industry has been very resilient– going through some tough times with almost all suppliers hiking prices, which the label printers are sometimes unable to pass on to the end user.

“But the worst is over. I think from here on, the industry will grow at a much faster pace. FMCG companies are moving away from shrink sleeves to pressure-sensitive labels and, therefore, from gravure to flexo. The run sizes are getting small and the end-users are opting for a lot of customization and anti-duplication features so that no one can copy them. We have special patterned plates and software. It can be either a covert or overt anticounterfeiting application, which can be printed by the label printer on his label. It will help identify if it’s a genuine product or not.”

Creative Graphics recently added a seventh unit in Kolkata. The firm already has units in Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Noida, and Baddi. “We are looking at our next investment. Our new equipment has come to India and we are looking for the best location. We will very soon add one more unit,” Sakalley said.
