Nilpeter had a very successful Labelexpo this time. According to Manish Kapoor, national sales head at Nilpeter India, the company sold three new presses at the exhibition. While two of them were booked by Sai Com Codes Flexoprint, the third one was bought by Homemade Bakers, both based in Sonepat, Haryana.
The year 2016–17 has been a phenomenal year for Nilpeter India, says Kapoor. “This is our best year so far. We have sold ten new presses, of which eight have been already installed. We also sold three more presses in Labelexpo. And there is still some more time left in this year to pursue. Thus, we are really bullish about our prospects right now.”
At its stand, Nilpeter showed a new FB line that sports a completely new design. With this new design, a printer can use both short and long web paths in a single printing press as per their job requirements. The highly configured and feature-packed FB-3300 UV-flexo servo press features novelties such as a gravure unit at the last printing unit—a value adding unit for metallic inks, solids and coatings; and a new rail-based cross-over unit that can be placed above any printing unit for total flexibility. The press comes equipped with a Corona treater, web cleaner, bigger chill drums on all units, movable cold foil, an Automatic Plate Positioning System, two die slots, and a 100% inspection system.
By the end of 2017, Nilpeter India plans to move into a new three-acre plant in Chennai and will have capacity to manufacture 30 printing presses in a year. Presently, Nilpeter can manufacture ten printing presses a year. Nilpeter India also plans to export presses from the plant.
Kapoor believes that the Indian label industry is poised well and is showing good stable growth at the moment. “No industry is free of challenges and this industry has its share as well. However, the label industry is always looking for new ways to innovate and add value to its products. This is a very good sign and should help the industry to keep growing in the future.”
Amongst the jobs produced by Nilpeter at Labelexpo India 2016 included a highly decorated label job as well as a shrink sleeve with a combination of flexo printing and gravure printing along with cold foil. On the final day, it showed a five-page multi-layered label being reproduced on the press.
