Mumbai-based TechNova Imaging System – which delivers quality products and services to a diverse range of sectors, including commercial and newspaper printing, publishing, packaging, signage, photo, textile, engineering, and medical imaging – participated in the LMAI Conference for the first time. The conference’s 2023 edition took place in Jaipur from 20-23 July.

The event’s theme – ‘Creativity, Innovation & Sustainability’ resonated deeply with TechNova’s core values and commitment to deliver cutting-edge products and services, says Amit Khurana, the deputy CEO of TechNova.

Expanding horizons: labels and packaging

Aiming at continuous growth and development, TechNova is excited about its strategic expansion into the labels and packaging industry. Recognizing the tremendous potential in this field, the company aims to become a pivotal solution provider for the entire labels and packaging ecosystem. To facilitate this endeavor, TechNova has forged a promising partnership with HP to offer its clients cutting-edge HP Indigo labels and packaging solutions.

We have been participating in LMAI’s events but this was the first time we were a part of the LMAI Conference. At LMAI Conference 2023, we talked about our solutions for the label industry. Earlier, we would offer just a couple of solutions for the narrow web flexo industry but now we are expanding our bouquet of solutions. We will have plates, CtP, and chemicals, among others. Our biggest strength today is our connect with the people and we want to leverage that in the label industry,” Khurana says.

“Looking ahead, TechNova is dedicated to building a robust flexo ecosystem encompassing a comprehensive range of products, including sustainable consumables, state-of-the-art hardware and innovative software for prepress, press, and post press operations. As part of our extensive product portfolio, we already offer a wide range of digital printing media tailored to the needs of our flexo customers,” he adds.

Future of packaging printing: HP Indigo 6K and HP Indigo 35K presses

TechNova says the introduction of the HP Indigo 6K and HP Indigo 35K digital presses is a testament to its commitment to innovation and meeting the dynamic demands of the modern labels and packaging market. The HP Indigo 6K, a digital narrow web press, is engineered to cater to short-run, on-demand, and unique applications such as self-adhesive labels, shrink-sleeves, flexible pouches, lamitubes, in-mold labels, and folding cartons.

This advanced press brings immense flexibility and efficiency to the labels and packaging industry, empowering businesses to meet their customers’ diverse needs more effectively.

The HP Indigo 35K B2 sheetfed press, dedicated to folding carton packaging, has advanced capabilities and high-quality printing and is set to create an impact in the folding carton segment.

“Our foray into the labels and packaging industry marks an important milestone for TechNova. With our partnership with HP, we are positioned to provide unparalleled digital printing solutions that cater to the dynamic demands of the modern labels and packaging market,” Khurana says.

In January, TechNova, in association with HP, inaugurated its TOUCH Center at Turbhe in Navi Mumbai. TOUCH is an acronym for TechNova Open University for CHange. The center is spread over 3,000 square feet and has the best-in-class HP Indigo 6k digital press running live to offer a complete experience of HP Indigo digital printing technology.

TechNova embraces sustainability

TechNova remains committed to sustainability and eco-friendly solutions, Khurana says. As part of this commitment, the company offers Asahi flexography plates and Toray letterpress plates in India. Through its alliance with Asahi Kasei, Japan, TechNova provides photopolymer flexographic plates in both solvent and water-washable options, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.

Additionally, TechNova supplies water-washable letterpress plates, dry offset plates and waterless offset plates from Toray Industries, Japan. These plates are used in a wide variety of packaging applications, showcasing TechNova’s dedication to supporting environmentally conscious practices.

Showcasing the potential of the Indian label industry

Khurana says the LMAI Conference was a great place to meet the industry and the event showcased the tremendous potential of the Indian label industry.

The LMAI Conference was a great event. For me, the key takeaways were that the Indian label industry is bullish about the future. I met a lot of progressive entrepreneurs who work with their customers and constantly generate value for them. The platform was a great place for networking,” Khurana concludes.
