At the recently concluded Pack Mach Asia 2022 held in Mumbai from 7-9 December, Omron Automation India talked about its i-Automation or ‘Innovative-Automation’ theme, which is the company’s global manufacturing innovation concept.
“It’s the direction that we strive to follow in the next decade to help the manufacturers address the diversified and complex changes shaping the market,” Sameer Gandhi, MD, Omron Automation India, said.
The I-Automation concept is based on three ‘i’s. They stand for integrated, intelligent and interactive automation for on-site innovation embodying three goals: digital engineering transformation, automation beyond human abilities, and advanced collaboration between people and machines, respectively.
“Our solutions at Pack Mach showcased all three concepts and how they are benefitting the packaging machine manufacturers and end users in the food and beverage, FMCG and pharma domains,” Gandhi said.
End-to-end value delivery
The company highlighted the end-to-end value it has delivered to customers. It showcased the solutions perspective of the offerings rather than highlighting the product features and benefits in insolation.
For example, one of the solutions displayed was automation of end-of-the-line packaging along with inspection enabled with an Omron robot and vision solution. “We highlighted the utility of perfect sealing solutions in order to make the visitors understand its long-term utility and not just focus on short-term needs. The bottling solution also encompassed a display of real-time analytics along with the high speed control it aims to deliver,” Gandhi added.
Excellent response at the show
The Omron booth had a good footfall on all three days. The visitors were mainly original equipment makers of packaging machines as well as end users majorly belonging to the food and beverage, FMCG and pharmaceutical segments.
“The various demonstrations presented the visitors with opportunities to experience real-world industrial packaging solutions first-hand rather than a mere product display,” Gandhi said. “They found the application-focused approach to be very informative. The direct interactions helped them realize the potential of Omron’s wide array of offerings for their respective business requirements encompassing all stages – primary, secondary and tertiary packaging.”
In terms of profile, the visitors comprised a wide range of audiences, from students, engineering teams, business and department heads, to top-level management.
“We ensured that each audience segment interacted with both our technical and business team members to gain a holistic and informed perspective on our solutions. Overall, the booth received appreciation for bringing packaging processes to life with real-time monitoring and data visualization capabilities,” Gandhi concluded.
