B&R Automation displayed a gamut of solutions at Plastindia 2015. The company talked about the ultrafast automation reACTION technology, which helps to reduce cycle times in industrial automation down to 1 µs allowing extremely time-critical sub-processes to be managed using standard hardware. Another solution on display was that of a single cable technology for servo motor. In addition to that B&R talked about the 3-axis servo drive which offers a power density of 4A for a litre, making it one of the most efficient servo drives with integrated safety functions in the market.

The company offered industrial PCs designed and built to meet industrial customers’ demands for maximum robustness, reliability and long-term availability. These include performance classes with Intelprocessors –Core i3|i5|i7.Alsobeing talked about at the event was B&R’s MAPP technology, application software for automation. These modular software blocks simplify the development of new programmes and reduce the development time for new machines and systems by an average of 67%. MAPP eliminates recurring programming tasks for developers by providing preconfigured blocks that are easy to use and already extensively tested.

B&R’s energy monitoring solutions for industries were promoted at Plastindia. The company offers a wide range of energy monitoring solutions for PLCs, drives and even entire process control systems. The B&R drive system is highly dynamic, but optimized for energy efficiency through energy regeneration, true power factor correction, an intelligent cooling concept and a shared DC bus for all inverters. Through direct control of LinMot linear motors, the B&R drive system is an efficient replacement for costly pneumatics. Intelligent autotuning further reduces energy costs by preventing oscillating control loops. Readymade solutions for variable speed pump drives tap the potential for energy savings on hydraulic machines was well attended. Tanmay Soni, senior sales and application engineer of B&R Automation, said that it had received a good response at the show.
