Mumbai-based Scanvik Packaging expects to have a great PlastIndia 2023 as stakeholders from the plastics and plastic packaging industry are meeting for the first time at a big expo after the Covid pandemic, according to its owner KV Hebbar.

Scanvik Packaging will not have a booth at the expo. It will work with its principals who will have their own stalls. “In the last two or three years, the customers were not able to personally interact with our principals. Online calls are good but face-to-face interaction is the real thing. The visitors can also touch and feel the products on display,” Hebbar said.

At PlastIndia, Rossini will display its range of flexo sleeves at its booth while Flexo Wash will showcase its latest generation of anilox cleaners. Hadson Sharp will not display any products but its senior officials will meet important customers at the expo.

PlastIndia 2023 will be held at New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan from 1-5 February.

Flexo technology is growing fast in India

The adoption of flexo technology in India is steadily growing in the packaging industry, and Hebbar expects this trend to continue.

“More flexo presses will continue to come into the Indian packaging industry. There are some good Indian manufacturers of flexo presses but they will take some time to establish. But overall, I am optimistic about the growth of flexo technology. The flexo pre-press segment has developed significantly. For example, there are some very good flexo plate makers in India. When it comes to flexo inks, there are some issues but I think in the long run, ink manufacturers will sort things out. The flexo support system is developing well in India and this will help the flexo industry in India,” Hebbar said.
