Robatech displays its Vision melter system at Automation Expo

Global gluing specialist Robatech demonstrated its Robatech Vision melter at the Automation Expo 2022 held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre from 16 to 19 August. Vision is the ‘smart’ adhesive melter for the high-quality adhesive application of thermoplastic hot melt adhesives. The FlexPort and the Smart Terminal combine energy-efficient design and new electronics into a smart melter for safe product gluing and cost-effective operation.

“This solution can be used in the packaging industry for cartoning, case packing, and case erectors, among others. The Vision system can be used in carton folder gluers or courier bag applications in the converting industry. It also has use in the automotive and mattress industries. Thus it is a very versatile product, but mostly it is used in the packaging and packaging converting industry,” said Santosh Kadam of Robatech India.

Kadam explained that despite its high melting capacity, the Vision system requires little space and is also suitable for the modernization of existing adhesive application systems. The FlexPort and the variable mounting of the touch display enable longitudinal and transverse melter installation. The Vision is compatible with heated hoses and the application heads built by Robatech in 2000 and later.

Kadam said one of its highlights is that the otherwise time-consuming tank cleaning is effortless with the Vision system. “The cleaning plug can be used to quickly and completely remove adhesive residues and impurities that have sunk into the collection area on the bottom of the tank,” he said.

Good footfall at the Automation expo

Kadam found the footfall at the Automation Expo 2022 was good, given that visitors gradually get used to returning to offline or physical events. “We have participated in the Automation Expo as we see a greater acceptance of solutions such as Vision in industries like packaging and converting. The footfall was good as visitors are enthusiastic to attend physical events, given the offline events did not take place for more than two and half years due to Covid-related restrictions. Things are looking up now,” Kadam concluded.
