Sivakasi-based Suri Graphix has showcased its paper and paperboard-based packaging solutions at the ProPak India 2022, being held in Bengaluru from 21-23 September. The company prints and converts monocartons, paper bags, paper bowls, food boxes, lunch boxes, ice cream boxes, and tag cards. It supplies these packaging solutions to customers based mainly in the three southern states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala.
“At ProPak, we are showing our complete range of solutions. Our major customers are in the food industry, about 60% of our business comes from this segment. We have started focusing on compostable packaging solutions. Right now, most of our solutions are PE coated, but there is a gradual increase in demand for sustainable solutions from our customers. The share, though, is still pretty small, mainly because of the high prices of fully compostable boxes and cartons. We have a very strong product development department,” says A Krishna, owner of Suri Graphix.
At its manufacturing unit, Suri Graphix operates a slew of machines. It has a Heidelberg 5-color offset press, Bobst Novacut 3.0 die cutter, Eterna folder gluer, Zund sample maker, UV varnish coating machine, foil stamping machine, rigid box maker, carton erecting machine, paper bowl making machine, window patching machine, and a paper bag making machine. The company converts about 100 tons of paper and paperboard every month.
Bullish about the growth
Krishna says that the paper-based packaging industry is poised for robust growth in the coming years as brand owners will enhance their demand for more paper-based packaging solutions.
“We are very positive about the growth in the paper and paperboard-based packaging industry in the medium to long run. We are also ready with biodegradable solutions. Our aim is to work with bigger brands as we have all the expertise and the technology at our disposal,” he concludes.
