With the latest advancements in Industry 4.0, there is an increasing number of developments coming to the market that address the need of automation particularly in the packaging industry. Nasik-based Technoshell Automation is a leading manufacturer and supplier of hot foil embossing, plastic tube capping and label applicator systems. With the increasing use of robotics that are integrated into packaging machinery and systems, the company has extended the capacities of its tube packer to operate robotically along with other machines that will be exhibited at Hall 4 Stand B14 in the upcoming K 2016 to be held from 19 to 26 October in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Speaking to Packaging South Asia, Tanmay Bhaste, marketing executive at Technoshell, says, “At K 2013, Technoshell displayed a high-speed tube packing machine integrated with closure systems. We will emphasize the ‘Make in India’ initiative with our state-of-the-art foil stamping and packaging machines at K 2016. We will be launching Robotic Tube Packer, RTP-150, which meets the growing need for automation in end-of-line operations.”
The RTP-150 is a high-speed, automatic machine which transfers tubes from the out-feed conveyor of a capping machine and places it into boxes. By using 6-axis robotic arms, the machine can easily move back and forth and in vertical directions to locate the tubes at a speed of up to 150 tubes a minute. The machine has been designed to hygienically pack a wide variety of extruded and laminate tubes into boxes. For different tube diameters, the tooling required for the machine is less and changeover is possible at a faster rate.
Equipped with box loading and unloading conveyors, RTP-150 uses the latest PLCs and servo drive systems to ensure a tightly integrated series of robotic systems that require less manual intervention. Technoshell will also present the latest integrated machine for hot foil stamping of jar caps and similar cosmetic packaging items at the exhibition.
