When inquired about Mark Andy’s role in FIG’s business in India, Gourav Roy, managing director of FIG said, “It has been almost 18 years that we have been representing the Mark Andy and Rotoflex. Mark Andy goes a long way, so today we have approximately 326 presses installed and have offices in Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai with all our service support. Primarily our goal has been to support the label printing industry and to serve the packaging industry. Hence, mainly since last two or three years, we have been installing more performance series equipment and high-quality finishing equipment like Rotoflex. There we talk about slitting, rewinding, inspection and fault detection.”
Roy says that FIG in partnership with Mark Andy caters to a vast customer base that includes multiple industries such as breweries, cosmetics, laminates, and pharmaceutical. When inquired about Mark Andy-owned Presstek’s role in the FIG’s business, Roy said, “Frankly, Presstek has been brought over by Mark Andy and for what I have been looking at the industry very closely as far as labels are concerned, I see that there is a lot of diversification happening and label printers are looking out to see that what else they can do. Presstek automatically comes into the picture in such a scenario. Being a Mark Andy-owned company, they can diversify into high-quality commercial printing as well as packaging where we are talking about the medium range and if they would like to get into packaging of the cartons which are top-notched quality of 300 lpi screens.”
He said that to execute the operations of business of FIG and Presstek, Mark Andy has already hired engineers and is currently training them at the Presstek site.
