Mumbai-based SP Ultraflex’s participation at Indiaplast 2019 has been very successful as the company has used the event as a platform to bring together many of its customers as well as meet new ones.
“When we were first approached by the organizers a few months back, we were sceptical regarding our participation. However, we took a call to go ahead, participate and demonstrate our ROBOSLIT OHP slitter-rewinder. We believe we made a right decision given the kind of footfall we have seen during all the days. Five of our important customers got together at our stand and appreciated the upgrades that we have made to the ROBOSLIT,” says Biku Kohli, managing director, SP Ultraflex.
The ROBOSLIT OHP that is on display at SP Ultraflex’s stand has been sold to a converter based in the NCR. According to Kohli, SP Ultraflex has sold 26 ROBOSLIT machines since its launch five years ago and eight of them, including the one that is on display at Indiaplast, have been sold in the North Indian region.
“There have been many repeat orders for ROBOSLIT as the customers have realized that once they get used to the dual turret technology, it is hard to go back,” he adds.
The company is commemorating the fifth anniversary year of the ROBOSLIT and has had multiple live demonstrations of the machine at its stand at Indiaplast 2019, where it has run at speeds of 800 m/min on all days. The machine has evolved continuously over the years. While it was launched in 2014 with a modest speed of 500 m/min, the speed of the machine is currently at 800 m/min for the standard version and 1000 m/min for the enhanced, ‘plus’ version.
The company is now preparing for its participation at the K show slated for October this year in Germany. “Unfortunately, we could not get a big enough stand at K show where we could demonstrate the ROBOSLIT. And we did not want to show some other smaller machines. So, we have decided that since we cannot have a live demonstration of the ROBIOSLIT, we will have some kind of virtual demonstration. We are currently planning on that,” says Kohli.
After the K show, SP Ultraflex will be seen at drupa 2020. Kohli says he is hoping the company gets a big enough stand which can accommodate the ROBOSLIT.
