
London hosts awards ceremony this yearPentawards call for entries 9 March to 24 April 2015This year again, Pentawards are opening up its prestigious international competition dedicated exclusively to packaging design. A truly global competition, the Pentawards open every year in a world-class city. After Monaco, Brussels, Shanghai, New York, Paris, Barcelona and Tokyo, this year is London’s turn. All packagings created or placed on the market since 1 January 2014 is eligible to compete in the Pentawards 2015. The 9th edition of the international competition, which offers 55 categories divided into five sectors – Food, Beverages, Body, Luxury and Other Markets, is open for entries from 9 March to 24 April 2015.

Photo PentawardsCreated in 2007, Pentawards is exclusively devoted to packaging design in all its forms. It is open to everybody in all countries who are associated with the creation and marketing of packaging. The winners will receive bronze, silver, gold, platinum or diamond Pentawards according to the creative quality of their work. Pentawards participants will have the opportunity of comparing their creations with others from all over the world and winning the prestigious awards will allow them to demonstrate their creativity and expertise worldwide.
Packaging designers, brand owners, packaging suppliers and students can register online at www.pentawards.org. Participants have to upload up to five different visuals of their creations in jpeg format (RGB, minimum 700 kB and maximum 1 MB). The Pentawards ceremony will be presented on 26 September 2015 in London. An international jury comprising of 12 professionals from packaging design and marketing and its chairman will bestow the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Pentawards. The best of the show will be crowned with the prestigious and unique Diamond Pentaward.
Packaging design from the world over created or brought out in 2014-15 will be judged by a likewise international jury that will select the winners in accordance with the creative quality of the work submitted. Apart from prize-giving, Pentawards’ mission is the promotion of packaging design with companies, the press, the economic and political authorities and the public in general, throughout the world.
The Package 3 Design Book
Pentawards, with its publication partner Taschen, produces a prefect packaging design book every year. Featuring a selection of over 400 works from 30 countries, this year the book The Package 3 Design Book, which is the third edition, brings together all the Pentawards winners from 2013 and 2014, providing a vivid demonstration of creativity in every form of packaging. Readers will discover, through introductory essays, product descriptions and plenty of images, what drives design industry leaders and agencies behind these creations which are so much part of our everyday lives. This well of inspiration is not just aimed at design and marketing professionals but anyone with an interest in the creative process of packaging.
