Mondi
Mondi Duino now part of an integrated value chain

Mondi, a global leader in the production of sustainable packaging and paper, has successfully started up its Duino mill recycled containerboard machine. This milestone further strengthens Mondi’s position as a leading producer of high-quality, sustainable packaging solutions while driving long-term value creation.

Throughout the ramp-up phase, Mondi is focused on maintaining consistent production of high-quality recycled containerboard, made from 100% recovered fiber. Ideal for lightweight corrugated solutions, these containerboard paper grades support cost-efficient, fully recyclable packaging solutions for applications such as eCommerce and consumer goods packaging.

“Starting up this machine on time is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team. With Mondi Duino now part of our integrated value chain, we are excited to serve our customers with sustainable packaging solutions from our expanded network of six containerboard mills worldwide,” says Markus Gärtner, CEO Mondi, corrugated packaging.

Where possible, the mill will source materials locally, contributing to the local economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions through shorter transport distances. The containerboard machine will also increase Mondi’s integration and enhance supply chain resilience for the benefit of customers.

Once fully ramped up, the machine will produce 420,000 tons of high-quality recycled containerboard annually, increasing Mondi’s integration and enhancing security of supply for customers.
