Hosted by the MSME Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (MSMECCII) the Global Conference & Expo on Sustainability was held in New Delhi at the end of April 2022. Chaired by the Honorable Shri Ramdas Bandu Athawale, Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment of the Government of India, the event was a perfect opportunity to discuss developments and solutions to pave the way to a sustainable future in the packaging industry.
Brückner Servtec CEO Markus Gschwandtner had the pleasure of joining the exclusive event panel, delivering a keynote on ‘Sustainability in flexible packaging.’ Markus highlighted Brückner’s strong collaboration along the entire value chain, enabling a circular economy of flexible packaging materials centered around sustainability. One of Brückner’s many contributions is its focus on the move to mono-material structures for easy recycling. As Markus said, “We see a strong trend towards BOPE structures, both for new machines and also for upgrades of existing production lines.”
Additionally, the keynote touched on the traceability and sorting of packaging materials for effective recycling processes. For which, the intensive collaboration of Brückner and its partner, the ‘R-Cycle initiative,’ leads the way to a transparent and common identification process.
During the lively discussions as part of the event with both, government and industry leaders, these important topics were further elaborated, highlighting the clear commitment of Brückner to creating a sustainable Indian packaging industry.
