Metal packaging products supplier Crown has developed new temperature sensitive inks to help brands improve consumer engagement. The company’s interactive technology, Reveal, uses temperature sensitive inks to engage consumers before, during and after beverage consumption.
Crown said that specially developed inks are used to change the graphics to ‘reveal’ specific imagery and messaging as the cold product inside is consumed, fostering greater interaction between consumers and brands. The new inks are developed by Crown Bevcan Europe & Middle East’s inhouse Design Studio team in partnership with Chromatic Technologies, Inc. (CTI).
According to the company, the temperature sensitive inks can be creatively used to produce images that can ‘change’, thus allowing consumers to see messages as the cold product inside the can is consumed. Recently, Crown Food Packaging North America has developed a large diameter easyopen end for McCall Farms. The new end enables McCall Farms’ food service customers to better access its 6lb cans of boiled peanuts by removing the need for the can opener entirely. Crown’s engineers partnered with McCall Farms manufacturing team to modify the end, which has the capacity to withstand the challenging conditions. The company, through its affiliated companies, supplies beverage packaging, food packaging, aerosol packaging, metal closures, and specialty packaging products to consumers.
