At drupa 2016, GlobalVision, a world leader in the development of innovative proofreading technologies demonstrated for the first time the integration of its Quality Control Platform into Esko’s Automation Engine 16. Embedding GlobalVision’s Quality Control Platform within Esko’s Automation Engine provides an all-in-one quality assurance solution that runs as a background process and results in anannotated and viewable design file with in Automation Engine. This further enables rapid and systematic review of all detected packaging and labelling errors throughout the workflow, from upstream design to print
Automation Engine is Esko’s workflow server. It automates prepress tasks, which speeds up the process, but also reduces the error rate and the need for operator intervention. Automation Engine is an intelligent system that takes prepress production to a new level by integrating with business systems as well as web front ends. “Today’s label and packaging production are complex and ever-changing, making it extremely challenging for companies to balance tight deadlines and quality,” said Christine Vanneli, marketing and event coordinator at GlobalVision. She further said that the partnership and integration between Esko and GlobalVision combine two best of class technologies to deliver the industry’s first fully automated solution to ensure the accuracy of the text, spelling, graphics, barcodes and Braille from initial designs to the final print.
GlobalVision has also released its Proof ware 2.0 – a new web-based, all-in-one suite of quality control applications to inspect digital files and identify errors before going to print. Proofware 2.0 brings an advanced suite of application tools focussed on delivering accuracy and traceability for quality control, reducing artwork rework cycles and cost.
Proofware 2.0 incorporates a redesigned user interface, cropping features, Adobe Illustrator support features, verification features in which Braille and barcode verification is now integrated into ArtProof and DocuProof and can handle complex layouts thanks to automatic processing of QRD templates for fast comparison to artwork. “Protecting our clients from errors is at the core of everything we do, and one way that we uphold this commitment is by constantly advancing and enhancing our solutions based on our partners’ changing needs,” explained Askold Zimmerman, account executive of GlobalVision. “With the enhanced feature set of Proofware 2.0, we are again bringing Quality Control inspection technologies to all new levels.”
