In a move to enhance its printing capabilities, Avonflex, a Hyderabad-based provider of flexible packaging and printing solutions for the food, agro, pharma, and FMCG industries, recently acquired a 9-color Solomark ELS 6450 rotogravure press from packaging machine manufacturer Pelican.
“Our choice of Pelican is ideal for all our 9-color printing jobs where we can achieve an overall registration level between 50 and 100 microns,” said Ritesh Atasniya, director of Avonflex. Characterized by the ELS technology, the Solomark 6450 can run at a maximum speed of 450 mpm with shafted or shaftless cylinder chucking.
The Solomark 6450 has a maximum web width of up to 1300 mm, with a web tension range of 60 to 400N and a reel diameter of 1000 mm. Highlighting the key features of the machine, Atasniya said, “It is highly energy efficient with lower power consumption and less waste. It is user friendly with better operational ease with better print quality and higher productivity.”
Other than the Solomart 6450, Avonflex has one more printing press from Pelican, two blown film lines, and four laminators.
The company, which began operations in 1995, moved into flexible packaging in 2011. Along with flexible laminates in its roster, Avonflex says it is all equipped to deliver different types of pouches such as center seal pouches, side gusset pouches, vacuum pouches, spout pouches, 3 side seal pouches, retort pouches among others.
Avonflex says it harps on quality, timely delivery, and price. It also boasts of providing world-class products at a very competitive price to its customers. “To provide end-to-end solutions, we have a design team of five members who help the customers to visualize the pouches. We match the customer’s delivery schedule with the best quality and at a competitive price range,” says Atasniya.
On the sustainability front, Atasniya says they are properly aligned with all government norms. “The printing in our plant is from non-toluene-based inks. For laminates, we provide materials from the same family where the recyclability of the materials is very high,” Atasniya claims.
Avonflex as part of its future expansion plans will move towards digital packaging, which is the current market trend in the packaging industry. “Although digital packaging has a small place in the industry, in the next five years, its growth rate will be very high,” says Atasniya.
