
Christoph Wachter took over as director of the flexible packaging paper division at Koehler Paper in January 2022. He succeeds Eckhard Kallies, who has had great success in positioning, developing, and implementing a long-term strategy for this new business unit as part of a three-year mandate.
Having invested over 300 million euros into the new production line 8 at its Kehl production facility, Koehler Paper entered the flexible packaging growth market in 2019. Koehler NexPlus, Koehler is now meeting the rapidly growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions. Koehler NexPlus is a range of barrier-coated paper with many applications. These include, in particular, barriers to odors, grease, mineral oils, water vapor, and also gases.
Christoph Wachter is taking over the division at Koehler Paper during strong growth. The 58-year-old studied business administration and brings with him 30 years of experience in specialty paper in the paper industry, where his roles have included working as a chief executive officer with international responsibility. He comes from Tyrol in Austria, is married, and has two grown-up children.
Further growth for flexible packaging paper from Koehler Paper
Since it entered the market, a wide range of customers, such as Ritter Sport and Südzucker, have opted for packaging paper from Koehler Paper.
