In January 2018, Robert Albrecht, a veteran of the cylinder-making industry and an important person as far as the modernization of the Indian gravure industry, retired after 23 years at Switzerland-based Daetwyler Graphics. Albrecht led international sales of equipment for cylinder making Daetwyler and has spent altogether 45 years in the graphics arts industry.

Being responsible for the Indian market, he is well known to the entire cylinder making industry in the country. He is closely associated with the big and small cylinder makers including companies such as Uflex, Afflatus, Huhtamaki PPL, Shilp, Etone and Kanodia, who will remember him for his active contribution to their success and wish him well in his retirement.

Albrecht also oversaw the start-up and growth of two Indian subsidiaries of Daetwyler Graphics, namely SwissTec India Pvt. Ltd. in 2006 and Daetwyler Graphics India Pvt. Ltd. in 2012. He was the founder director in both these companies.

Alexander Schotten has taken over Daetwyler Graphics’ activities in India from Albrecht. The Indian gravure industry expresses good wishes to Albrecht in his retirement. It also welcomes Alexander Schotten to carry on the good work in modernizing the Indian cylinder making industry.
