For Avery Dennison, which specializes in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of labeling and functional materials, the theme for Labelexpo 2022 would be building a sustainable and resilient future. The company would showcase its range of sustainable and digital solutions, including RFID and NFC technologies. It will also talk about a range of solutions that help build premium shelf appeal and enhance the security of a brand.

Our booth – No. F8, Hall 3 – is focused on areas such as building a better customer experience, product innovation, sustainable solutions, futuristic technologies to build on customer engagement and our 25 years of business in India,” Saurabh Agarwal, senior director and general manager, LPM South Asia, said.

Agarwal said it is a great feeling to be a part of the expo that is taking place it after four years in India, and especially because it is happening after the pandemic. “As an organization, we are looking forward to the opportunities it will extend to interact with our industry, customers, and brands. We are coming up with some exciting avenues made for the future.”

The 2018 edition was a great show for us in terms of customer interaction and the products we showcased. We expect this edition to be better than the previous one.”

The company expects strong participation from the label ecosystem – machine manufacturers, RM suppliers, packaging material suppliers, and academia at the expo. “There is some renewed interest for fresh investments in this space from a new set of entrepreneurs as well. We are sure they will have a bunch of curious questions for us.”

Avery Dennison, in the last four years, is working to advance its approach in sustainability and digital solutions as Agarwal said. It has launched a bunch of new products ‘Think Thin’ portfolio in a bid to mitigate the inflation challenge.

Premium substrates and some unique counterfeiting solutions will also be on display. While we added these products, we made significant headwinds in expanding our footprint in India by opening a state-of-the-art greenfield facility in Greater Noida. We also made several key advancements in enhancing customer experience by offering unique targeted services.”

According to Agarwal, during the pandemic, the health and wellness segment received a lot of attention with product launches in categories such as sanitizers, home cleaners, ayurvedic and organic products.

We see continued demand in that category. The need for on-demand products or services has benefited a lot of start-ups and online business propositions. Digital payments have created some strong business opportunities in the ecosystem. The digital penetration in tier-II and cities has opened up the demand for eCommerce and has had a positive impact on the label ecosystem as well.”
