Hyderabad-based Caro Water is known for making sustainable paper boxes for drinking water. Caro water is nutrient-enriched water that influences its customers through a green lifestyle, health consciousness, and the planet. It has made 5-liter, 10-liter, and 20-liter boxes for households, corporate offices, hospitals, hotels, events, catering services, and more. Based on a bag-in-box concept with options including a plastic dispensing tap, the company claims that it has reduced the use of plastic by 85% in comparison to PET containers and also that it uses 100% plastics.

Currently, the company is mainly taking orders from Hyderabad through an app named Caro Water App. Water is sold mainly in plastics, whether 1-liter pet bottles or 20 liters bubble cans which are neither healthy for human consumption nor the environment. Caro Water claims its boxes have a longer shelf life, eco-friendly packaging, nutrient-enriched water, a hygienic filling process, tamper-proof taps, and the plastics its uses are BPA-free. The boxes are claimed to be easier to carry, and more easily dispensable and recyclable through a company program.

Suneeth Tatineni, co-founder and managing director at Caro Water, says, “Our product is a corrugated box that reduces plastic usage by 85 %. It is 100 % recyclable and is recycled with the help of our Recycle Program, where we encourage customers by providing them with credit points for their participation. We have also collaborated with recycling plants so the [material] separated empty boxes will be sent to the respective recycling plants where they will be handled appropriately.”

“With the help of Caro Water box, we are trying to make an impact on society to reduce plastic usage and also handing the minimal amount that we are using responsibly. We are in the R&D stage to bring on bottles of 1-liter size or smaller than it, which are planned to be 100% eco-friendly. This packaging has a lot of advantages to pack and supply liquids and semi-liquids, which we believe will be the future of packaging for a sustainable future.”
