Gasti Verpackungsmaschinen, one of the oldest German packaging companies, in business for over 120 years and now part of the IMA Dairy & Food Group, is under new management. Berthold Burgmeier took on the role of managing director of the business on 1 April 2021.
Berthold Burgmeier has many years of experience working in the packaging and dairy industry. After studying mechanical engineering, he worked for several years as a project manager in the R & D department at Krones, and from 2007 he has held various management positions.
Burgmeier joined a team of Gasti for better growth
Most recently, Berthold Burgmeier held the position of head of Central Technology in the service of the dairy company Gropper. During his time in this role, he was instrumental in enabling growth through the latest technologies and methods. Thomas Becker, CEO and partner of the IMA Dairy & Food Group, stated, “Having Berthold Burgmeier join the team is a great advantage for Gasti. His many years of experience in this industry gives him a unique understanding from suppliers’ and customers’ perspectives, which will enable us to continue to develop the Gasti brand and grow the business.”
Gasti produces hygienic filling machines for the dairy and food industries. Although the Covid-19 pandemic has created challenges for the sector, Burgmeier is looking ahead with confidence. He expects to bring fresh ideas and innovation to help him build on Gasti’s long-established legacy as it continues to drive the development and delivery of efficient filling and sealing machines to the market.
