The second edition of the India Packaging Awards, held on 1 June 2017 at the Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai, lauded pharmaceutical packaging innovations across the country.

The awards ceremony began with a note by Yogesh Mudras, managing director, UBM India followed by an address by Ravi Uday Bhaskar, director general, Pharmaexil.

The second edition of the India Packaging Awards received 150 nominations, up by 40% as compared to last year. Companies from various verticals were honoured for their innovations in packaging.

The jury consisted of Chakravarthi AVPS, managing director and chief executive officer of Ecobliss India, Preetish Toraskar, founder and director at Koye Pharmaceuticals, Rakesh Mehta, senior vice president and head global sales and marketing – API Business for Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, Ashok Kumar Bhattacharya, executive director and country manager at Takeda Pharmaceuticals India and Parizad A Elchidana, independent consultant with GMP Scientific Inc. & PWC. The jury met two months ago to work out the nominations filed, which was then followed by a testing of the products on legal and laboratory fronts.

– Excellence in Quality Assurance: Signode India Ltd.
– Excellence in Packaging Machinery – Machinery Manufacturers: ACG Pampax Machines Pvt Ltd.
– Excellence in Enhanced User Experience: Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
– Excellence in Sustainable Packaging: Signode India Ltd.
– Excellence in Packaging Design Rx Drugs: Sun Pharmaceuticals
