Thomas Nielsen, CEO of Ikonprint, inspects the Braunstein beer labels printed on their new Nilpeter Panorama product line

Ikonprint from Vordingborg, Denmark, has taken a digital leap by becoming the first Danish printer to install the new Nilpeter digital UV inkjet product line, Panorama. The move is a direct result of an increased number of incoming orders, and thus an urgent need to expand production capacity. Panorama is Nilpeter’s complete digital solution, offering opportunities in a 360° perspective.

The Panorama comes as a standalone digital press and as a combined digital press and converting solution. The digital press is based on proven inkjet technology and features a simple and highly intuitive user interface presented on a 42-inch color touchscreen. The Panorama offers market leading uptime and outstanding print quality and is backed by an efficient, worldwide service setup.

The first test runs made during Ikonprint’s acquisition of the Panorama were of such high quality that they decided to skip further testing and jump straight into the production of two customer orders – namely the production of around 500,000 wristbands for Bakken Amusement Park and the labels for Braunstein’s organic Easter beer. Besides amusement park wristbands and beer labels, Ikonprint’s new digital press will produce labels for industrial coating and paints, wine and spirits, as well as cosmetics.

The CEO of Ikonprint, Thomas Nielsen, thoroughly examined the market for UV inkjet digital presses before choosing Nilpeter’s Panorama. “Besides the obvious advantages of having a supplier close to our facilities, the high print quality, high uptime, and smart workflow made it an easy decision for us. And we are free – there are now special production charges and we can choose the web width most suitable for the individual job. It is crucial for us that the print is durable, water and fade resistant – and that’s exactly what the Panorama product line delivers.”
